For many years, SARRAN by rising Thai jewelry designer Sarran Youkongdee has been recognized, nationally and internationally, as a brand that has a knack on conveying an essence of Thainess through delicacy, craftsmanship and romanticism. And these pillars of the brand are still strongly present in his latest collection “Last Love in the Moonlight”.
For this collection, the designer said he was inspired by the famous literature Le Petit Prince by Antoine Saint-Exupery, the book that his mother gave him since he was a child. After all these years, the book remains his favorite. “Every time I read it, I have something new. And it gets easier to read and digest every time. The book also made me see life as less complicated. I think in life, it is normal to have ups and downs. But at the end of the day, we just want to get the simplest answer.” Sarran said that this collection also reflects his thought on his personal life, especially on the relationship of his mother and his own.
“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important” – The Little Prince
The rose that the Little Prince fell in love with also plays a large part in this collection. “For me, the rose is like a lover. The most important question that that for us, do we give enough attention to the rose in our lives?”
