When it comes to Thai restaurant brands, Supanniga is a stand-out in many aspects. Popular among Thais and foreigners alike, this established restaurant brand combines authentic and scrumptious Thai cuisine, matched with charming design and prime locations. Following the huge successes of its existing ventures, including Supanniga Eating Room at Tha Tian, Supanniga Cruise and new delivery service Soodkua by Supanniga, the Supanniga Group has unveiled its newest outpost in Charoenkrung.
Nestled in a beautifully restored two-storey shophouse from the King Rama VII period, Supanniga Eating Room Charoenkrung is the latest gourmet sanctuary to open its doors in the historical district of Charoenkrung, boasting a contemporary ambiance with a touch of Isan. The restaurant features authentic Thai food that draws on the recipes of Khunyai Somsri Chantra, the grandmother of owner Mr. Thanareuk Laoraowirodge, who grew up in the Eastern seaside town of Trad but later moved to Khon Kaen in Northeastern Thailand.
Apart from the signature dishes, the Charoenkrung branch also offers a selection of 10 special dishes only available here, using local ingredients from Trad such as salak, pineapples and crabs. The menu includes coconut curry with salak and crispy gourami fish, spicy curry with crispy pork and pineapple offshoots, stir-fried crab eggs with salt and chili mix, stir-fried lotus stems with shrimp paste and mackerel, among others. The Eastern Thai-inspired dishes are paired with organic rice from Khon Kaen.
For drinks, Supanniga Eating Room Charoenkrung is a tea lovers’ paradise as it offers pairings featuring signature dishes and special blended tea by Bangkok-based artisanal tea purveyor TE. The restaurant is also home to Bangkok’s first rose bar, serving up still, sparkling and Champagne roses.
