New retail pavilion designed by Kengo Kuma at Amanpuri

The latest collaboration between the world-famous Japanese architect and the global hospitality brand Aman.

Since when Phuket became a global tourist destination? Phuket’s tourism boom kicked off around thirty years ago, the same time that Aman launched its first property Amanpuri. Today, the global hospitality brand has decided to embark on a new exciting journey by launching Aman’s new retail concept at its very first property.

The new Retail Pavilion at Amanpuri is where resort guests and visitors can purchase a curated selection of items by local and international designers that are created exclusively to Aman. The architecture is designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who also designed the packaging for Aman’s skincare products. The architecture corresponds with Amanpuri’s inspiration, which is the former Thai capital of Ayutthaya. Apart from the retail space, the Pavilion also has a central lounge area where guests can relax on limited-edition furniture pieces, also designed by Kengo Kuma, like the one-of-a-kind Kigumi Table that is crafted in Germany and is produced in a limited edition of 10. The Retail Pavilion is located next to the art gallery featuring works of Thai and global artists.

The Retail Pavilion at Amanpuri is open daily from 8.00am to 9.00pm in high season (November to April) and 10.00am to 7.00pm during the summer months. For more information visit Amanpuri’s website.
